JIARI is committed to academic integrity and the originality of published work. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
Definition
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text, data, figures, or ideas from other sources without proper attribution
- Self-plagiarism (re-using substantial portions of one’s own previously published work without citation or justification)
- Paraphrasing substantial content without acknowledgment
- Submitting work that is not the authors’ own
Screening Procedure
All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism / similarity-detection software. Editors also rely on reviewer and editorial judgment. Similarity percentage alone does not establish plagiarism; context, attribution, and the nature of the matched text are considered.
Manuscripts containing substantial unattributed similarity may be:
- Returned to authors for revision and proper citation
- Rejected
- Investigated further under the journal’s publication ethics procedure
Author Responsibilities
- Ensure that the submitted work is original
- Properly cite and reference all sources
- Obtain permission for any copyrighted material that is reproduced
- Disclose any prior publication or overlapping content
Actions in Cases of Misconduct
When plagiarism or related misconduct is identified (before or after publication), JIARI may take appropriate action, which can include rejection, retraction, notification of authors’ institutions, and other measures consistent with the journal’s ethics and malpractice policy.
